Please read these terms of service carefully before placing an order with UK Christian Science Online Reading Room. By placing an order with UK Christian Science Online Reading Room, you signify your agreement to be bound by these conditions.
The owner of this website, the UK Christian Science Online Reading Room, is the Joint Christian Science Reading Room UK, registered UK charity no. 1143776. All products for sale on this website are in accord with the requirements of a Reading Room, as set out by The Mother Church in Boston Massachusetts, and found in the Church Manual of The First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Boston, Massachusetts, article XXI, section III.
2. Our contract
Your order is an offer to the UK Christian Science Online Reading Room to buy the products in your order. When you place an order, we will send you a confirmation email with the full details of your purchase, address and payment method. You will then receive a second email confirming your offer. Confirmation and acceptance of your order is subject to stock levels at the time of order. This second email will notify you of whether your order has been accepted and also if it has been shipped.
The costs of products have been decided by the Librarian and Deputy Librarian of this Online Reading Room. If an error is discovered in the price of the goods that you have ordered, we will inform you as soon as possible. If the error is discovered we will contact you about a partial refund (if necessary).
4. Order cancellation
Customers can cancel their order at no cost any time before receiving the confirmation and shipping email. If you are making a purchase through Shopify Payments, Shopify Payments will remove the money from your account within two working days. Therefore we will refund the cost of the purchase if cancelled before you have received a confirmation and shipping email.

Customers have the right to return items withing 21 days of purchase (28 days if outside of the UK), only once they have informed the Librarian via email@example.com that one or more item will be returned. Items must be returned intact and in good, re-sellable condition in order to be entitled to a refund. Customer will have to pay the appropriate fee for postage and packaging when returning a product and are responsible for fully insuring the package for the contents value. Customers will receive the refund by the same or similar method of payment once the item has been received in good condition. Refunds will only be given for the cost of the item, not for the cost of postage.
6. Faulty or damaged products
We will not knowingly send customers faulty or damaged items. However if a product is discovered faulty or damaged, customers maintain the right to return products if they are not received in good condition and will be entitled to a full refund.
If an item is received damaged please take photographs of the damaged items and of the parcel container as this proof is needed by the parcel company for compensation purposes. Please send us these photographs along with a description of the damage as soon as possible to firstname.lastname@example.org. Thank you.
We will then either replace the item for no extra cost, or issue a full refund for the item/s, and postage (if necessary) once proof is given of the fault/damage.
